Our Active Kids Programmes are committed to giving Canterbury kids the chance to develop skills and confidence, enjoying the fun and friendship that comes with keeping active.
Until recently, Active Kids Programmes were exclusively delivered by Sport Canterbury, the Regional Sports Trust for the Canterbury West Coast Region since 1989.
In 2018, Sport Canterbury was committed to find a way to continue their Christchurch-based Programmes, through a local partnership.
They identified MASH as an ideal provider of Active Kids Programmes, given MASH’s depth of experience and alignment with Sport Canterbury’s vision, Kia Kaha Ake, Kia Nui Ake, Te Tokomaha Ake (More People, More Active, More Often).
Sport Canterbury’s Christchurch & Timaru - based Holiday Programmes were handed over to MASH for delivery. Sport Canterbury do not have ownership or responsibility for these Programmes, although their philosophy is evident in the Programme content – the idea that being active has vast benefits for the physical and emotional health of our tamariki.

Not much! You will still get the same high quality sports based programme run by the same staff, but it will incorporate the fantastic MASH philosophies and structure. We have extended the hours to better cater for working parents, and that gives us the opportunity to strengthen relationships between our staff and the children.
We have also listened to our Sport Canterbury parents, and in the future we will be bringing you longer running programmes, with the goal of providing programmes at each location for the full school holiday periods.
One of the big positive changes for parents is our easy online booking process and invoicing system. Our friendly office staff are also on hand to provide you with the best customer support.
